Founder Kendra Kolb Butler's love for skin care and passion for the planet led her to create the first-ever beauty brand to wildcraft their ingredients. What is wildcrafting, you ask? Kendra gives the 411.
Q. What is wildcrafting?
Kendra: Wildcrafting is the practice of harvesting plants from their natural, or “wild” habitat, primarily for food or medicinal purposes. When wildcrafting is done sustainably and respectfully, as we do, generally only the fruit, flowers, or branches are carefully removed and the living plant is left healthy and intact.
Q. What are the benefits of wildcrafted ingredients?
Kendra: The plants we harvest are some of the hardiest and most resilient botanicals that are conditioned to survive in an unforgiving climate. When applied topically, these plants perform just like they do in the wild—preserving, protecting, and strengthening skin cells for increased resiliency, which results in skin that looks, feels, and behaves more youthfully.
Q. What plants do you wildcraft?
Kendra: We wildcraft plants that are local to Jackson Hole, which include–but are not limited to– Arnica, Borage, Chamomile, Calendula, Chokecherry, Sage, Willow Bark and Huckleberry.
